Belmont is a small boutique agency of senior people that have extensive experience. Our combined knowledge spans sales, marketing, operations and education. We have a list of talented people such as developers, designers, producers, and educators from which to draw. Large agencies retain huge staff, as well as large facilities. Clients ultimately pay for this overhead in retainers, fees, and project costs. We optimize a clients ROI, because we are set up differently.  Our leadership defines project specs, timelines, and budgets. Once we establish these, we supplement our internal staff with independent contractors. As a result, we execute on-time, on-budget, and can be more flexible.  For our clients, boutique means “more bang for the buck.”

Clients are always asking how to get results within their budget. With Belmont Consulting clients are not carrying overhead for facilities and payroll staff waiting for work. Our clients only pay for the delivery of results. Because each client gets a project manager with 20+ years of experience, we eliminate trial and error issues, false starts, ineffective design and analysis tools, as well poor execution by junior staff. Our contractor resources are available globally, which give is flexibility.  Working virtually means we select the best resource from around the world to meet budget and needs of our clients.

“A brand is the promise of an experience.”

Bob Mack Peak, BBC Chief Branding Officer.

A brand is an experience and it is critical to develop your brand statements and messaging guidelines. You must first define your customers and what they expect. Your brand is the top of the pyramid when it comes to messaging, and it should drive all your media.

We rarely, if ever, find a company where the employees can state the company’s brand promise. If you ask employees at Volvo what their brand promise is (and most people in the world) will state, “Volvo makes the worlds safest cars.” This is from years of education and commitment to safety. It is a message that has been repeated  to their employees as well as communicated globally to consumers. The key to branding is to define who you are and what you stand for.

Build your product and services strategy around that. Then educate employees, vendors, and consumers so you may live your brand promise.

Digital marketing includes all marketing efforts that use an electronic device or the internet. Digital channels such as search engines, social media, email, and other websites  are used to connect with current and prospective customers.

We like digital marketing for two reasons: 1) all assets are reusable forever; 2) Pictures and video are more compelling than written words. Digital marketing means you create all elements of media, video, imagery, and print and store them in the cloud for sharing and reuse. Print and signage are one-time deliverables that only last as long as the media it’s printed on.

At Belmont Consulting, we assign a client to our senior staff member based on industry, deliverables, and best match for the client’s team. Firstly, we have a one-on-one meeting to determine the goals, timeline, and budget. From there, We brainstorm the requirements to define the baseline deliverables. Then we think outside-the-box and provide options for clients as ‘additional services and deliverables.’ Belmont Consulting works internally to flesh out the proposal first draft. In the client review, we make note of additional requirements or modifications to the proposal. A budget is agreed upon and we designate a single point of contact. We then engage the needed resources and go to work. Our Goal: optimize output within budget for maximum ROI for clients.

Firstly, we help you understand if you need a mobile app. If you do, we can develop specific apps for iPhone or Android. A decade ago the ‘Responsive’ website format was developed so that WordPress, HTML, and other code can respond to the device being used. This allows modern websites to adapt to desktops, phones, and tablets.

All our website development is done with avoiding  costly mobile app development and issues with mobile devices. Unless you’re a mobile-only app company, you don’t need to build a mobile app in addition to your website.

This is everyone’s challenge, with no simple answer.

We had a client that thought if they spent a massive amount on Google AdWords, they’d get higher search rankings. It’s not that simple. Google ranks people based on how valid their site content is. This includes metadata, keywords, cornerstone content, sitemap.xml file syncs, revenue, and many other variables. There is no one thing that can deliver results without looking at ‘everything!’ For new or existing sites, we do that same thing – look at everything. There are general guidelines on navigation, ads, popups, single-clicks, images, and cosmetics that work. Small things like colors (blue for corporate, green for foods, etc.) that stimulate responses.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of using onsite and offsite tactics to help get content presented by a search engine. Done well, the practice increases the quantity and quality of your traffic. Tuning your Search Engine Optimization (SEO), or metadata and keywords, will require you to edit your website page copy. Creating and posting your sitemap.xml file to Google Analytics will help Google rank priority on pages. Articles, revenue results, blogs, trends, ads, social postings, and other global elements are used by Google to push rankings up and increase search links. We use many different tools to look at competition websites, content, and keywords to tune your metadata.

Numerous analytical tools, including our custom analytics, and Google Analytics can be used measure different things. Some of these include demographics, platforms, locations, actions, orders, and a host of other metrics. The bulk of Google Analytics categorizes data into acquisition, behavior, and conversions. You can tag images, pages, and content to have deep-dive analytics on any website element. It ain’t easy, but we can simplify it for you.

Keywords are the words and phrases searchers use to find content. For example, if you are looking for instructions on how to make chicken soup from scratch, you might use some of these words:

  • Chicken Soup Recipe
  • Homemade Chicken Soup
  • How to make chicken soup

The trick is figuring out which words people will use to search for your product or service, and using them in your content.

At Belmont Consulting, we consider keywords and the topics they suggest when optimizing content for search.

Metadata is used to describe a web page and related content. Some of this information is displayed when you do a Google search. It shows up as a short paragraph about the page, so you can decide if it has the content you are looking for.

This question is the source of endless speculation and debate because search engine companies such as Google will not answer it.

Experts generally agree rankings are based on relevance and authority. However the factors that determine them are many—and inconsistent. The best way to achieve a high search engine ranking is to create the most thorough web pages possible for a specific keyword or topic.

Belmont Consulting can assist you with increasing your search engine visibility.

You can pursue a variety of strategies to earn mentions and links. The three most prolific are likely to be:

  • Secure opportunities to write guest posts on influential blogs.
  • Create relationships with influencers in your industry.
  • Keep creating and promoting content worthy of mentions and links.

PPC stands for pay-per-click. Essentially, it’s a way of buying web traffic. Advertisers pay a fee each time one of their ads is clicked. Search engine advertising is the most popular form of PPC. However, numerous channels including Facebook, now offer PPC ad models. Belmont Consulting can help develop website inserts and ads for other sites to link back to you.

Unless you have the free time and expertise needed to dedicate yourself to managing your own social media, you should hire someone.

Every industry is different, and we will help define the need and extent for social media, and which platforms will work best for your business.

What’s important is developing brand and messaging guidelines and a central person with one voice for the company. Based on the response to social media and followers, you can define how often to post. Businesses that understand the power of social media marketing and commit resources to it can see great returns. They boost awareness, drive traffic, interact with customers, drive sales, as well as build loyalty.  They can also create on line advocates who will do their selling for them.

The bigger questions is, “Do I need social media?” Yes and Maybe. We’re always suspicious when companies rely on social media so heavily just because everyone else is doing it. Social Media must be established, executed, and monitored with great care. It can build or destroy your company if not delivered properly. We’ve seen companies with a disgruntled former employee lockout management while launching into libelous content. Belmont Consultation will protect your on line reputation as if it were our own.

Based on target audiences we can help determine if you need Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google, Yelp!, Linkedin, or other outlets. We may determine that articles, blogs, and industry influencers can provide more impact than social media.   We can also help with reputation defense and repair.

Whether you’re a product company or services organization, you need video. The reason marketers love video so much is online consumers love it. More than a billion hours of video are consumed on YouTube each day.

Video is a flexible and engaging content format. It’s easy to share across multiple platforms. Smartphones and digital editing have made it far easier to create videos, so the potential for a high ROI is great.

Belmont Consulting specializes in high-value videos with 2D, 3D animation, whiteboard storytelling, and live-action productions. YouTube is a powerful tool that can deliver thousands of followers to your channel. Since being acquired by Google, YouTube has new metrics for being able to advertise or promote products and services. Developing a series of videos with humor or catchy themes can be a bonanza. They need to be professional, sharp, and up to Hollywood standards to get action. Service organizations can save a lot of money by doing ‘how-to’ videos to reduce support calls, and help deliver your brand promise.

Email is stronger than ever. It’s more popular than any social media. It’s more private. More personal. And most importantly, more reliable. Most people rely on email and check their inbox multiple times each day. If you want to communicate directly with people who grant you permission to market to them, email is marketing is essential.

Everyone has the great idea to do a newsletter, and several months later that enthusiasm wanes. It’s wise to send regular updates your subscribers with news of new content, new products (or improvements), events, and so forth. It’s not wise to send out a newsletter when the mood strikes. It requires a lot of attention and content worth reading. Keep it visually appealing, and consistent with your brand image.

There are any number of email services that you can/should use. With WordPress sites, there are a number of plug-ins that work well and can popup to be put into footers or pages to capture names.

Valid services are whitelisted with internet providers so they don’t get flagged. You must comply with all the good practices, notify users of the use of cookies, and ask for permission on two levels: 1) Would you like to receive newsletters? 2) Would you like to receive additional offers and notices? The users must double opt-in to avoid harsh penalties for abusing bulk mailings.

Good services include MailChimp, Constant Contact, Benchmark, etc. Good providers include templates and options to opt-out with each email blast. If you try to do this with email services like Gmail or Outlook, you will get flagged for sending bulk emails. Leave it to us and the whitelisted services for this.
